Orchid in Bloom: A Tribute to Singapore’s 60 Years of Grace and Growth
As Singapore celebrates her 60th year of independence, I find myself reflecting on the values that have shaped both our nation and my journey as a designer. This milestone—SG60—is not just a number. It’s a celebration of resilience, diversity, and beauty in transformation. Inspired by this spirit, I created a special line of resin orchid flower jewelry, infused with natural pearls, natural stones, botanical elements, and natural shells—each piece telling a story of grace, strength, and identity.

And in a quiet, magical surprise—each orchid softly glows in the dark, a symbol of hope shining through even the darkest moments.
Rooted in nature and sustainability, this SG60 collection reflects Singapore’s journey: vibrant, diverse, and endlessly evolving. Wear a piece of living memory. Wear light in bloom.

In Singapore, the Phalaenopsis Dark Purple orchid, also known as the moth orchid, symbolizes royalty, luxury, and deep admiration. It's often given as a gift to convey respect and appreciation for someone special, highlighting their unique qualities and greatness - a powerful symbol of esteem and reverence.
Orchid’s ability to thrive in our tropical climate, with vibrant colours and elegant form, mirrors Singapore’s own evolution—from humble roots to a thriving, green metropolis. By capturing real orchid petals in resin, I aim to preserve their fleeting beauty, turning each bloom into a timeless wearable keepsake. It is a way to freeze a moment of life, just as SG60 invites us to pause and honour the past while looking forward.
Each piece is thoughtfully composed with natural pearls, by-product stones such as spinel, quartz, sapphire, and hand-collected botanical fragments. I also incorporate natural shells beads, reflecting our island heritage. These materials speak of Singapore’s connection to nature—from the original kampongs and mangroves to our modern city parks and coastal waters.
Choosing by-product stones and reclaimed organic matter is part of CcFineJeweller’s design ethos: celebrating beauty in imperfection, embracing natural form, and supporting sustainable and conscious design. Just as Singapore values innovation without forgetting tradition, my jewelry is a quiet rebellion against waste and overproduction. Each creation is one of a kind—just like every life, every memory, every orchid.
Design Ethos Rooted in Meaning
At CcFineJeweller, jewelry is more than adornment—it is a reflection of values, identity, and purpose. This SG60 collection is a manifestation of our core belief in conservation, wellness, diversity, and education. It honors the miyabi (elegance), yūgen (the subtle mysterious beauty), and wabi-sabi (the beauty in imperfection) of Japanese design philosophies, which deeply influence my creative process.
Each pendant or earring in the collection carries a small part of Singapore’s soul—from the tactile softness of natural pearls symbolising harmony, to the veins in orchid petals reminding us of how far we’ve come. It is my hope that these pieces will be worn not just for beauty, but for meaning—reminders of our shared heritage, and the personal milestones that shape us. Let us wear our stories with pride, and step into the future rooted in nature, memory, and the quiet strength of an orchid in bloom.
Happy 60th, Singapore.
